Did you know that every 15 minutes a child is born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD)? Hi, I'm Cailin Whitman, the founder of MTAH and i am just one of many battling CHD each year. I want my journey to stand as a testament to the unwavering strength that can emerge from the depths of struggle. Growing up with CHD, specifically Tetralogy of Fallot, I faced a many challenges that could have easily defined my existence. Yet, I chose a different path, one illuminated by courage, determination, and unyielding hope. In a world where representation for CHD and Heart Disease is scarce, I discovered the power of self-trust and resilience. My story teaches us that heart disease is but a chapter in the book of our lives, not the entirety. By harnessing my inner strength and refusing to let physical limitations dictate m,y potential, I shattered the barriers that sought to confine me. Through sheer will and unshakeable belief, I redefined my narrative, reminding us that anyone is boundless and capable of soaring beyond any diagnosis. My journey serves as a beacon of inspiration, showing people with heart disease that with a heart full of determination and a mind brimming with possibility, we too can overcome adversity, redefine our limits, and live a life defined not by our conditions, but by our aspirations, hopes, and dreams.
