About the Founder
Being Born with CHD and growing up in a small town, I always felt like the odd one out. I never knew someone with a similar condition to mine, and there was never representation that i could lean on for support. It became very lonely at times, as I felt like my differences defined me as a person. At just four months old I was already given these assumptions.  After a successful open heart surgery my parents were given very low expectations about my quality of life. They were assured that I would struggle more than my peers. Competitive sports were out of the question. And that surgery would take place every 5 years. But I tested the odds against me. At four years old I played soccer. At five years old I had another heart surgery. From age seven to twelve I played softball. And from twelve to present day I play Basketball. It has been eleven years sense I had heart surgery. It has been my whole life that i've committed to overcoming every challenge presented to me. And I am dedicated to spreading my story to the millions of children around the globe that have CHD. I feel a great sense of pride and responsibility to have the ability to share my story.

More Than A Heartbeat doesn't just represent my heart, but it represents each and every heart that has fought a battle. It represents the millions of lives lost to Heart disease, the millions of children overcoming their low expectations, the millions of people without accessible heart care, but most importantly, it represents that we are all more than a heartbeat. I have had so many amazing blessings gifted through my heart condition, and I hope that MTAH gifts those blessings back to you.
